Announcement – May 26, 2020

Good afternoon,

We hope you have enjoyed your Memorial Day weekend! We are gearing back up for reopening Monday (6/1) and wanted to share some updates. To begin, we encourage you to drop off the following items starting tomorrow (5/27) through Friday (5/29) from 9am-12pm in preparation for our reopening.

In a labeled (first and last name) disposable bag please include the following items:
• Sheet/blanket
• Extra summer clothes
• Diapers/wipes
• Labeled sunscreen/bug spray

During this time, we will also be returning items left behind prior to our closing. A PCA teacher will be at the door to assist in the exchange.

When we return Monday (6/1) we will begin new drop off and pick up procedures for the safety of our staff and children. To comply with CDC procedures, we are restricting the entrance of anyone other than staff and children into the building. We will have runners at the door to walk your child to class each day. Upon arrival, we will check temperatures and hands will be washed. If any child is found to have a fever you will be notified.

At this time please do not bring food, snacks, drinks, toys, water bottles, and backpacks from home. If you have questions regarding any other items, please reach out to us. Water will be provided frequently throughout the day.

Pick up will be curbside and window tags will be provided with your child’s name. For efficiency, please place the tag in your front windshield. Your child will be escorted to your car by a PCA teacher upon your arrival. Classwork, art projects, sheets/blankets etc. will be sent home each Friday.

We would like for tuition payments to be made electronically by:
•   Bill pay (We bank with BB&T and our address is 858 Cedar St.)
•   Venmo, Cashapp, Paypal
•   Over the phone card payments

As recommended by DSS and DHEC we will continue implementing the following procedures to ensure the safety of your child:
•   Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces regularly.
•   Providing sanitation stations at each door that will include hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes, gloves, face masks, etc.
•   To promote social distancing lunch, bathroom, and playground times will be specifically allotted for each class. Proper sanitation will be practiced between each use.

Infant families, please bring premade bottles and/or food labeled in a plastic disposable bag. We encourage you to also include your child’s feeding schedule as well as any special notes or instructions for the teacher.

We will be introducing a new way to communicate electronically through ClassDojo. Look for more information on this in the near future.

Please follow up directly with Ms. Kim if you will not be planning for your child to return on June 1st. Thank you to all our families for the continued support and understanding as we transition. As always, reach out to Ms. Kim if you have any questions at (803) 517-5478 or at Kim.Baker@palmettochildrensacademy.com
